The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL is a roadster which was introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 1971. The R107 was offered as a two-door, two-seat roadster with an automated (electro-hydraulic), fabric convertible roof; color-matched, automated tonneau cover; and a manually detachable hardtop that could be fitted over the stored fabric convertible roof and tonneau.

Such was the popularity of this model that is the second longest single series production car for the marque (behind the G-Class), being produced for 18 years.

Over 237,000 SLs were produced and proved a significant success in the US, featuring in the lifestyles of rich & famous characters in popular television soap operas of the era such as ‘Dallas’ and ‘Dynasty’.

The featured car was purchased in 1990 and is an electric convertible.
